I need to install a new throttle control wire but getting it fed through and past the bend where it comes outta the handle bar is a hassle...push, pull, push, pull....ain't doin' it...
So here's a Tip I came up with many years ago...
take out your needle nose ...
and put a slight bend in just the tip of the wire....
not too much as you need to slide it in to get it started
Chock up the other end in your drill and set it to reverse...you'll be across the shop depending on how long your wire is...and while your feeding the wire in with one hand run the drill with the other...
The idea is that the bent tip will follow the outer coil as you run the drill and thread itself through the housing...the drill has to be in reverse so the bent tip screws inward based on how the outer coil is wound...
Deeper and deeper....

Un-chock the drill and you're ready to go...
Sweet! In addition to getting the inner "through and through" it also cleans the rust and grime outta the outer cable housing. This technique is especially handy when replacing an inner on a bike that's completely together. Using this drill method you can replace the inner without disconnecting the outer housing at all...it'll flow right through all the bends...time to put the guts together...Oh and just snip the tip when you're done...
